Secondary District Teacher of the Year!

My sugar plum, honey bum of a hubby won Teacher of the Year at his school a couple months ago.  We recently went to a banquet to honor all the teacher of the year's in the district.  It was so fun and we had a delicious free meal!!  Jared poured this sauce all over his pork thinking it was a creamy sauce (I just thought he knew what he was doing).  I put a dab on the side so I could try it first.  Boy was I glad I didn't smother my meat with the sauce; I think it was horseradish or something.  Jared mentioned how overbearing the taste was later that night and I just laughed. No wonder he wanted to try some of my meat!

Now to the juicy announcement... at this banquet, they announced the Secondary District Teacher of the Year... and it was Jared.  He was shocked... not I.  Jared does such an amazing job with his choirs and his love for his students truely shows.  His kids and all of their parents LOVE him.  They tell me at the concerts all the time.  I love hearing his praise.  I always quickly agree that he is awesome!  His choir has more than tripled since he started I believe.  He has kids wanting to be in choir!  Most teachers at the banquet had a lot more teaching experience under their belt and with this being Jared's 3rd year, I think it is quite an accomplishment that he was awarded such an honor!  All of the teacher of the year's had to write like 7 essays and they were also interviewed.  Jared is so good at interviews and at writing, I had a feeling he just might win... and he did!  He made the front page of the newspaper and is the face on their school district website.  He received a plaque, a beautiful crystal vase, a small labtop, & a $200 gift certificate to Belk to buy teacher clothes!!  Wahoo!  His choir recently had a UIL competition and his choirs did AWESOME!!  3 out of 4 of his choirs won sweepstakes... perfect scores.  Go Mr. Critchfield!!
