Before life passes me by and I forget these cute moments, I wanted to record them so I never forget the cuddly, cuteness of our girls. The entire weekend and this morning, I woke up to Allie climbing in bed with me (or us). She always brings her blankie and is sucking her thumb as she gives me that darling smile that says "can I snuggle you?" Or course she can! Kailee will come in and push Daddy over and snuggle on the other side of me sometimes too. She's the lucky one who gets to snuggle both of us! The girls think it's so fun and funny to snuggle us in our bed in the morning. I LOVE it!!
I've noticed something special about Allie lately, a change of character. She used to be so territorial over her things and never enjoyed sharing. The other day, I made us a shake and it was Allie's turn to have the pink cup, so Kailee got the purple cup and she was sad, but did not throw a fit, just sadly said "I really wanted the pink cup" and I reminded her that we have to take turns and it was Allie's turn. The next thing I know Kailee shows me her PINK cup and she says, "Mommy, Allie shared with me." Allie loves pink and that was SOOO sweet of her. I was proud and I could tell it made Allie very happy too b/c as I tell my girls, when we are nice to others and share with others, it makes them and us feel happy inside!!
Allie is so willing to share her food too, even if it's a cookie! What a doll. Once she had a few m & m's and I asked her if I could have the last one and she tried to give it to me. I got warm fuzzies inside that she would be so sweet and told her she could have it.
Allie has also gotten more physical. She loves to push Kailee, mostly in a playing way, and she loves to pick Kailee up or sit on her during preschool or in the bath. I find them practically laying on top of each other in Kailee's bed sometimes; they love to snuggle!!
Kailee is slowly learning not to tattle tell, but to tell Allie how things make her feel. She'll also ask Allie to please say sorry and to not do it again. Allie says either "sorry Kai-ee," "Sorry K K," or "Sorry boo boo." And she always apologizes with a huge smile and her cuteness is irresistable and always makes Kailee & I laugh.
Kailee is growing up way too fast. She is a super swinger, a progressing reader, and she gets humor now. It cracks me up what is "funny" to her. She'll tell me things that are funny all the time and say "that's so funny, huh Mom!" She even does knock knock jokes with Jared sometimes.
If Allie gets out of bed, then she has to sleep in their room by herself and Kailee goes and sleeps in the guest room. After a week of this, Allie finally is staying in bed! The nights I got to snuggle with Kailee (didn't have to worry about breaking her toddler bed) on the guest bed were memories I want to hold forever. She started playing copy games with me and will copy everything I say, which is kinda fun, especially when I throw her off and get her to answer one of my questions and then I'm the one copying her. :) She always tells me "best friends forever" and begs me to tell her a story. She loves my cheesy stories. And what I love more are her stories! They are creative and in her mind super funny! She makes me laugh.
Tonight I admired the familiar routine of Jared playing with the girls before bed: tickling, snuggling, giggling, smiling, and reading a few scripture verses. Kailee can read a lot by herself (all the little words) and Allie's voice is so cute and her inflexion on syllables makes it even cuter. The girls love to stand on Jared's hands and then he lifts them up in the air and brings them down and up, down and up, and then throws them up and catches them! They love it. I love it.
I love my Savior, His gospel, and my sweet little family. Life just doesn't get any better!

Congrats Jared! I don't know any teacher within their first couple years that have ever won teacher of the year. That really is an awesome accomplishment.
