Our 5th Anniversary!

Five years ago I became the happiest woman alive!  Thanks to Jared's choir students, we had an awesome anniversary getaway at the Gaylord Resort!  Day 1: Lunch, pedicures, worked out at their fitness center, went swimming, ate at the Cheesecake factory, and saw the movie Eclipse together!  Thanks Jare-Bear.  He actually enjoyed the movie!  Day 2: I woke up to roses and we ate Jared's favorite "cinnamon toast crunch." We sported our bride and groom shirts that my Mom bought us for our honeymoon.  We got a lot of looks and smiles!  I'm pretty sure everyone thought we were honeymooners!  5 years and still feels like it!!  I have quite the sweetie pie, sugar plum, honey bum, snuggle-bunny!!
We got 1 1/2 hour massages and LOVED it!  This was Jared's first massage!
Then we went jogging together outside b/c it was pretty cool and windy, which is rare in Texas during the middle of the day in the summer.  Then we hit up the pool, got some pina coladas (soooo yummy), and didn't stay long b/c it was a gloomy day and not very sunny. :(
For dinner on our anniversary, we ate at the Texas Station at the Gaylord.  We split an awesome steak dinner!  Because it was our anniversary, they gave us free tickets to their Glass Cactus night club, so we went... yes, it was our first "clubbin" experience.  Don't get me wrong, we have danced the night away one too many times in college, but have never been to a real "club" where they serve alcohol.  It was country night, so we listened to the band and threw back a few cold ones!!  No pina coladas, so we ordered strawberry Daquiri's without the Daquiri... it was like a strawberry smoothie.  I was a little disappointed that there was a dance floor, but nobody was dancing... everyone just stood there watching the band like it was a concert.  That was the main reason we went... b/c we wanted to dance.  We weren't brave enough to get the party started.  We still had fun though!
Here are a few scenic pictures...
The balcony to our room!  Beautiful view.
The gorgeous Gaylord Resort!
Us "clubbin!"
Day 3:  The gloomy and rainy weather continued, so we ditched the Hurricane Harbor idea and went to brunch, went to a mall, went to Kohl's and got Jared a sweet shirt and pair of shorts, went to get the van out of the shop, and finally to pick up the girls whom we missed so much!!!  Thanks to the Fish family for watching them for us!  You guys rock!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY BABES!

The Big 25 and Father's Day!!

The day started with my favorite breakfast (in bed!)... sausage/egg/cheese biscuit w/ o.j.!!  It's a tradition.  Jared did the dishes all day long too!  He took me to Olive Garden for dinner (one of my favorite places to eat)... also a tradition!
Kailee helped Daddy make a homemade carrot cake (my favorite)!!  It was delicious; I was very impressed!
I asked for a lettuce/cabbage/potato/zucchini, etc. slicer and a cast iron skillet.  I love kitchen gadgets and love cooking so this was perfect!
My friend, Marquee, and I (front and center, bottom row) both turned 25 the same week, so we threw ourselves a joint party!!  We went laser tagging and to Ben & Jerry's for ice cream!  So fun!  Girls nights rock!  The theme was 80's... can you tell? :)
2 days later was the date of the Daddy/daughter Father's Day race...5K (so I thought) where Daddy can push the stroller... followed by a Daddy/daughter look a like contest in which I was going to enter him and Allie!  I've been so excited for it and thought it'd be a great tradition to start.  We got there and no one was there.  Turns out it was the Saturday before and we missed it.  Whoops. $25 down the drain. :(  It makes sense to do a Father's day race the day before, right??  Guess not. Oh well.  So, it was 7:30 in the morning and we weren't going to make our getting up early be in vain... so we went to the big and famous "Celebration Park!"  The girls had a blast!
For Father's Day, Jared got the same breakfast I did!!  Conveniently in the freezer!  After church I let him take a long nap and for dinner I made Cafe Rio Chicken Salads!! Yum.  We had leftover Carrot Cake for dessert!  Love ya babes!  As Kailee often says "You're the best Daddy in the whole world!"

Sunbeam Party

I'm the Sunbeam teacher at church (3 turning 4 class), so we had a pizza/pool party!  As you can see, there are not many guys in my life. lol  These girls are so fun and cute!  I hope I can keep in touch with them all as they grow up!
