Our Farewell with Kevin...

 Handsome Elder Critchfield!
On his way to serve a mission in South Africa, he had a layover in Dallas!  How convenient!  So, Jared's siblings in Austin drove to Dallas to join us for lunch with Kevie!  They picked him up at the airport!
After preschool ended, the girls & I met them at the Rainforest Cafe!  The girls loved it.  It's like a jungle in there.
Jared's little bro... not so little anymore. (sniffle)
 Lunch was delicious!
 All of Kevin's nieces!
It's always nice to get together with family!
We'll miss you Kevie-poo!

Valentine's Day and Adopting 5 Kids!

This post will show my lack of Valentine's pictures! :)  For dinner, we had pink heart pancakes!  The girls got cute bears from us!  And the Valentine's man came, left candy on our doorstep, rang the doorbell, and ran!
Here are 3 of the Fish kids...the other 2 little girls were sleeping.  We kept them for a week while their parents went to Hawaii!  They watched our girls last summer while we went on our anniversary getaway.  When Cindy asked me if I could watch her kids while they went to Hawaii, my 1st thought was, "I can't watch your kids, cuz I'm going with you!!" lol ha ha ha.  I wish.  I was totally excited to have 7 kids for a week.  After the 1st night when kids were sick and waking up, it was totally easy, but definitely an adventure.  I went from going to the gym, the library, and doing whatever I wanted in the afternoons to being a taxi driver!!  With sports, dance, and piano, their Mama is one busy lady!  The younger kids are about the same age as my girls, so that was fun!  My girls loved having the extra kids around to entertain them!  I must say I'm glad I don't have 2 sets of twins though.  Too many diapers and naps to worry about, lol.  With the older kids heading to school, my girls got up earlier and also had to nap earlier cuz I had to leave at 2:45 to pick up the elementary kids from school.  So, one by one, I'd wake a kid up & buckle them in their car seat. :)  I could totally have 7 kid someday!!  If I spread them out so the older ones could help!  We shall see...who knows how many we'll have???  Older kids sure are fun though!  It made me not quite so sad that my girls are growing so quickly... cuz pretty soon they'll be playin sports, doing aerobics with me, dancing their day away, etc.  I cherish the stage we're in right now, but I also look forward to watching them grow up!

In case you're interested in my personal observation on the difference in having 2 kids and 7 kids... here are my thoughts...There is more smiling, more laughing, more talking, more things to keep track of, MORE milk to buy, & more dancing going on, but for the Mom there is less TIME (because you're spending it driving kids places)... and therefore less reading, less working out, less cooking, less chill time (for e-mail or a movie), less craft time, less sleeping, etc.  And less sometimes means None!  So basically, Moms with more kids sacrifice more of their personal time for their kids all day everyday just about.  But that's just how life is and it sure was fun hearing about the kids' school day, watching 2 of the girls in their dance class, crimping Riley's hair for school pictures, and eating pizza and brownies on our Fri. night movie night!  And who cares if there's a period of time when there's not much time for crafting or reading... enjoy your kids while they're still young!  So, if you're considering 7 kids... I say go for it!!  I think spreading them out is key!  The older kids can be so helpful!

After the little kids were in bed, Jared and the older Fish kids made me a Valentine edible bouquet just like last year!  So cute and delicious!  Thanks babes!  I got Jared some candy and a cute little teddy bear and was totally expecting him to sleep with it... yeah... that didn't happen :)  he threw it off the bed and said I was his teddy bear! lol
It was such NICE weather last week.  This is Kailee, Allie, and the younger Fish kids, Annalise & Ellie... taking a "nap" outside.  Silly goosies!  They played outside constantly.  I can't wait for Spring and official warmer weather!

Kailee turned 4!

Our eventful day started out with Kailee's breakfast request:  Chocolate chip pancakes!  No preschool today because it snowed!!
We did manage to drive to Chick Fillet for lunch and then to the Jordan's home to see another birthday girl!  One of Jared's classes sang to Haley and Kailee together last year, but this year since school was cancelled, we just took all the cookies over to Haley's house and sang to her!  There is her cute sister T.J. too who will be one of Jared's students next year!  We love the Jordan Family!
Present time!  We opened presents after lunch b/c Jared had to hop on a plane that night for a choir convention in San Antonio and we didn't want him to miss out.
For about 6 months, Kailee has reminded me that she wants a banana cake for her birthday... so I made banana pudding!  Yum!  It was good, but I need a different recipe for sure.  The one on the vanilla wafer box is too thick and I've definitely had better.
Kailee using our preschool rug as a blanket!
Kailee's belated birthday party with her church friends.  We had cupcakes with her school friends.  We had to reschedule b/c of the snow and ice.  It was a Princess Pizza Pajama Party!!
Rainbow chip cupcakes with pink sprinkles!  The girls decorated princess wands too!
 They had pizza for dinner!
I blind folded the girls one by one and let them stick lips on the paper.  As long as you stuck the lips somewhere, you won!!
Present time!  Her friends are too nice.
She got lots of coloring supplies, a my little pony, a bubble wand, a strawberry shortcake movie, & lots of princess stickers!  And I got a lot of cute bags and tons of tissue paper to replenish my stash!
After cupcakes, we ended the night by watching a princess movie!
I let Kailee pick a balloon for her b-day and also let Allie pick one too so she wouldn't feel left out :)
 Kailee & Kinsey dancing!
 Sisters being silly!
Since Allie switched from her crib to Kailee's toddler bed a few months ago...so, for Kailee's b-day... we got her a...
Princess bed!!  So cute!  She loves it.  And her Nana & Papa got her Princess bedding to go with it.  Kailee even says Allie wants to sleep in it b/c her bed is so pretty!  And 2 nights ago, Allie did crawl in bed and sleep the entire night with Kailee.  They told me about it when they woke up!  I love how Kailee decorates her bed with her many animals and her baby Christy (which was my doll from my mama)!

Allie's 1st Snow!

Allie is totally pumped in this pic!!!  I knew Jared's old b-ball shoes would be useful someday!
 Mama's Girls!
 Angel in the making!
 Jare Bear and Shanny XOXO
"Dadio Patio" with his lil' princesses!
Jared convinced the girls an igloo would be cooler than a snowman, but the igloo didn't work out so great, so he made the girls a snow chair. :)
The girls thought it was cool!
Shhhhhh... it's so comfortable, we're sleeping!
I made the girls some new flower clips!  Am not gonna lie... they're for me too!
My most recent craft project: The "Family" block.  Got the idea from a friend.  My Cricket machine can cut vinyl letters too, which is awesome!!  If you want to make one too, buy a 2"X 8' piece of wood and have them cut it into 8" squares (it made like 10)  Then sand them with coarse sandpaper, followed by fine sandpaper.  Then paint desired color.  After it dries, sand the edges to get the antique look.  By vinyl and transfer paper at walmart and use someone's Cricket if you don't have one to cut the lettering.  I practiced on paper to get the right size.  Then tie on a matching bow!  Wala!  I love it.  Next I'm going to modge podge a family picture on one with either a bow or lettering on it too.  Also, I'm gonna make a white one for the girls room that says "Sisters!"
