SHANNON ROSE!!

1. I am a home body. When I was little, even like 10 yrs. old, I'd go stay with my Grandma (Mama Bert), but I'd get so homesick, I'd call my Dad and cry, lol. He would try and comfort me, but also let me know that he wasn't making the 2 hr. drive in the middle of the night, but that he would come the next day. Also, I always preferred having friends over at my house because I just liked my house better.

2. I have always been a kindof a mischevious and sneaky little one. I don't really think so, but my parents say I was at times and now I assure you that Jared would agree. When I was in the 4th grade, my best friend, Jennifer Savory was moving and so I stayed the night with her 2 weeks before she left. Then the week before she moved I wanted to go stay with her again. I asked my Dad and he said no... so then I asked my Mom and she said no... So, (it's so funny because I remember doing this) I went in the bathroom, turned on the spicket, and put water on my eyes and made tears so that I appeared to be crying. Then I went back to my Mom and in my fakest sobs, managed to get out "Mom, can I please stay the night with Jennifer, I'll never see her again?" My Mom said, "Oh, alright." The "cries" stopped and I thanked her and then ran to my room to gloat in my sneakyness! I told my Mom years later! Jared would assure you that I'm not a very good fake crier anymore. Sometimes I fake pout, it's pretty funny; it's a great tactic I use to get Jared to snuggle me!

3. There are certain times in my life (certain times of the month) when I am apt to get a little bit emotional. One such time, Jared and I were on a no sweets kick and we were nearing the end of our 2 week goal. I was feeling a little not like myself and was really craving some cookies a friend had brought us that were in our freezer. Jared got home from work and I sat on his lap and started my fake pouting. The story goes something like this: S: "Hey hun-bun?" J: "Yes, hunny" S: "I think I need a cookie" J: "no you don't, you can do it, we only have 3 more days!" S: "You don't understand, I really need a cookie, I don't know why?" J: (laughing) "you told me to not give in to your begging if you did, so I'm going to have to say no" S: (holding back the tears) "but I really need it" Then I walk back to the bedroom, throw myself down on our air mattress, and start bawling. Jared comes back and sees me seriously crying over a cookie and I can totally tell he's trying his hardest to hold back his laughs. He said "I'll go get you a cookie, I'm sorry hunny, I didn't realize you needed it this badly" Me: "Noooo, it's okay, I don't know what's wrong with me, I'll be fine, I just need to lay here and cry and then go to bed." Jared leaves and comes back with a cookie and tries to get me to eat it, but I refuse. So, he took a bite and said "now you have to eat some," so he sticks it in my mouth and I took a bite. Then, this is crazy, but this overwhelming happiness overcame me, the crying stopped and I got the biggest smile on my face and started laughing. It was a great memory for us!!

How to get Mom to leave the store and go home...

This shirt is so dang cute on her; thankyou Nana! I went with my friends Alissa and Kate to a fabric store to get fabric for making a Christmas table runner. While we were there, Kailee threw up all over her cute outfit, all over Mommy, and all over the floor. She seemed completely happy though, so I don't think she was sick. Maybe she's allergic to fabric, lol or maybe that's her way of showing me she's ready to go, or maybe she didn't like one of the fabrics I picked out and that was the only way she could express her opinion.

Pretty in pink!

Here Kailee successfully pulled up on the couch... as you can see from my fingers, I was scared she might fall. Now she's pretty good at not just letting go. She knows how to get down sometimes!
My Aunt Michele bought her this outfit and I can't get over how cute it is on her.

Kailee had her 9 month check up on Monday and she is still quite the big baby for her age.

Height: 95th percentile (29 in.)

Weight: 75th percentile (20 lbs. 12 oz.)

Head Size: 100th percentile (she went from 95th to 100th)

So basically, Kailee has more brains than any other 9 monther! I'm so proud!

Pulling up!

Here is a pic. of Kailee's beginning attempts of pulling herself up. Once again, she looks like a frog!
When Kailee is supposed to be napping, I go in her room and this is what I find!
After she discovered how to pull herself up on things, she thinks crib time is play time. So, it takes her a little longer to get to sleep sometimes.
Kailee loves to play in her crib and now that she's mastered pulling up on things, she has begun holding on to the crib rails and walking around the crib, lol.

Frogs!

Kailee is always trying to stand up without holding on to anything, but it just doesn't work.



Here, she sits like a frog and looks a little uncomfortable.

Our little Kangaroo!

This is just a small sample of what Kailee does in the johnny jump up! She automatically gets super excited when I put her in it. We owe her jumping abilities to the Ballard's for letting us borrow it until Hadlie is big enough to use it! Actually, our thanks goes to Hadlie... you're so giving!

Mobile babies are so much fun!

This was the 2nd day Kailee started crawling on all fours. It was taken about 2 weeks ago, so she's a lot faster now.

If Kailee were an animal, she'd be a bunny!

Kailee loves to make her face look like a sniffing bunny and sniff in and out really hard. It's pretty funny. She does it all the time now. This video is when she first started doing it. She loves to copy Mommy and do it back and forth!

Four Mommies and Four Babies... EIGHT girls!!

It's so funny to me that there are 8 girls in this picture! I love it. This was taken at the Willis reunion when they were in town and I stole this pic. from the Willis blog so my friends and family could see all of our cute babies together! From left to right we have Hadlie (6 months), Kailee (8.5 months), Makenzie (6.5 months), and Reagan (3.5 months). Now our babies are a few weeks older, of course!

Jared's buddy from Texas, John, came to watch the BYU game with Jared (He loves BYU!). Then he came to our house to meet Kailee and I. At first Kailee cried, but she warmed up to him.

John loves the camera and we had to get a pic. of his cool jacket, so it worked out nicely for both of us!

Here, Kailee is so happy to be with Uncle Johnny! Can you see her tooth? lol

What to do when a boy makes a move on your girl?

One minute, Kailee and Leighton are happily playing with one another as they debate who has the coolest Mom. I was so proud to hear Kailee talking me up like she was!
Then, the next thing I know... Leighton busts a move on Kailee. And after all I taught her, she didn't move. She totally let Leighton kiss her. I thought to myself "that a girl... Mommy did the same thing when she was dating Daddy!"
This past week has been very eventful for the Critchfield family. Kailee started army crawling the beginning of October and 3 weeks later she is crawling on her knees like a big girl! It's fun to see her on her hands and toes with her butt in the air too! She loves to crawl around the living room and play with toys, Daddy's books, her diaper bag, etc. She is really enjoying being so mobile. Two days later she starts attempting to pull herself up on things. She reaches up and grabs on to chairs or the couch and sometimes falls, but of course Mommy is there to catch her so she doesn't bump her head. Once she gets both hands up on a chair or the couch, she tries to move her legs up to stand, but just isn't strong enough. Soon enough!

Also, Kailee has been saying "ma ma", "da da", and "la la" a lot more. She loves to talk to herself! My favorite part of the day is when Kailee wakes up. Jared brings her in to the room to me and puts Kailee on the bed beside me. It's a very refreshing wake up call. She tries to crawl all over me and speaks jibberish to me, but I can understand her. She normally says things along the lines of "get up Mom, we've got to play... and I'm starving... wow, you've got a cool bed, how come my bed is so small and hard?"

She has also become aware sometimes when one of us leaves. One day Jared was leaving and said "Bye Kailee, I love you" and shut the door and she screamed. It was so cute. She did the same thing for me that day when I left. She also cried when Lee Willis left our house. She just loves company!

The past 2-3 weeks Kailee has been Miss cranky pants half the day. I could feel a little bump on her gum where a tooth was surely going to pop through soon. Sure enough last Friday moring, I felt a little edge of the tooth and the next day I could feel the whole tooth. Though it is hardly out of the gum, it's there and will be more visible soon! This is my attempt to get a picture for you! It's a little blurry, but if you look closely, you can see her lips, lol.
Here is a gorgeous dress my Aunt Michele bought for Kailee. She looked like an angel in it. Isn't it cute? If you're reading this Auntie, you've got great taste in baby clothes!

Where's Kailee???
There she is!! She LOVES to play with all of her stuffed animals! I keep a couple in her crib and when she wakes up, she normally just talks to her cuddly friends and chews on them. Kailee gets really excited when I give her all of her stuffed animals at once... it keeps her busy for like 30 mins. to an hour!
Try not to look at me in this picture. If only I were as cute as my baby! Isn't she a doll!
Here is Kailee stretching... she's getting ready for our walk! Actually, her Aunt Michele bought her this cool sporty outfit and I bought Kailee her 1st pair of tennies! She was wondering what those things on her feet were and had to check them out!

Trick or treat!

Julie Beck and I took our babies trick or treating at Helaman Halls! It was too bad the Daddy's had to work. Our girls got us lots of candy!

Kailee loved reaching in and picking her favorite piece of candy. Here, Reagan and Kailee both picked M&M's and immediately started trying to eat them. Kailee would often choose some wimpy piece of candy like a pixie stick or jawbreaker over all of the delicious chocolates, so being the loving Mother that I am, I helped guide her hand in the right direction!

Halloween!

Here is the cutest pumpkin I've ever had!


This is Kailee, Reagan, and Hadlie! I love how Hadlie is holding Reagan's hand and Kailee is trying to touch Reagan, but is impeded by her costume. Aren't they adorable?!
